There are, however, some very basis principals that make fundraising and the generation of sponsorship far easier to achieve. Two key principles apply. First, all private sector, public sector and charities/voluntary organisations need to understand that ongoing income depends on the donors and the recipient experiencing a 'win win' situation that links in to their needs/objectives. Second, there ideally has to be some emotional link between the cash provider and recipient. This may be because the funding/sponsorship opportunities either exactly fit a potential client's needs/objectives (and we have to establish this knowledge before contacting them) or it may be because a personal experience or passionate hobby/interest links the funding/sponsorship opportunity to individuals or the business culture (many firms allow their staff to input into which charities should be given cash help both corporately and through the personal efforts of the staff.
